| Body Beach Tonight First of all let me say I have never spent much time around a Les Cook built boat. I have had the priviledge of spending 2 evenings with them. What I have seen so far is that the boats he builds are wickedly fast and sound like nothing I have ever heard. They stick to the water and turn on a dime at very high speed. They appear to be sound and strong. Be it runabouts (that break the speed barrier & scare the crap out of me) or standups my personal opinion is that he is at this time possibly the best mechanic I have seen so far. I am seeing something from "The Land Down Under" that needs to be paid attention to. Kylie Elmers is my hero. Cole Askew, a newcomer looks so much like Todd Ross when he rides it makes my heart hurt. Very odd riding style since Todd retired before this kid was ever born.
England showed up in force and oh my word. The 2 Edwards boys Matt and Joe are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
By the way....I didn't see one single Kawasaki anywhere on the beach. It truely was "Momar's World". The sound of 4 strokes were EVERYWHERE.
I have been to Crazy Beach and Body Beach both in the past 5 days and I will tell you that the Internationals are practicing at Body Beach. And, the insanely fast runabouts seem to be at Body Beach. Mac, Rachel and Bill Chapin were there early. Simon Gill and his family was there also. It was so very nice to see Bob Crabtree and his wife today also. The Thais have a Les Cook built boat that simply flys. No one shows up so far until 6pm.
The Kuwaitis have simply stolen my heart!! They are so excited to be here. They are full of laughter, pride, and have treated me personally like a member of their team and their family. Their positive happy energy is simply contagious. I don't know when I have enjoyed a group of people so much. I thank them so very much for their club pin that they gave me for my hat. It is an honor to wear it.
Amy Green looks very strong. Ice is getting major air. I am seeing some that may fly under the radar. Crazy Beach Sunday showed me that Valentin Dardillat is looking alot like a young Steven Dauliach. Farthing broke the day I saw him. Someone other than Nicolas brought the runabout down to Body Beach Monday.... did 2 or 3 runs pulled it out of the water and away they went. It looked very consistant.
Chapin, Mac, and Rachel are not showing their hands just yet. Understandably so. Playing it very close to the chest. But in my opinion....when Chris is on and I mean really focused and really on he is by far the greatest athlete to ever compete in this sport.
As more racers show up tomorrow......and you know who I mean. I expect to see the bar raised considerably.
Brice Lopez will not be competing.
Roc will not be here.
Will Rick Roy compete??
Daniel Ashcroft is looking for a competitve ski. If I can find one for him he will compete.
And the burning question is.........will Eric "the stealth" Malone compete against his own team???
Now keep in mind this report was given to you by a 60 year old woman who is going blind and can't hear squat!!! So.....what do I know??
Stay tuned for tomorrow's exciting installment of "As The Impeller Turns"
