Amatuer Open Videos Heat 1, and Moto 1

I have nothing usable from Moto #2, and as we all know there was a horrible crash with fatality, so I would not post anything from that even if I had it.

I have some more stuff that I will try to post later in the week.

RIP Casare... Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Thanks. Those were both great. I saw a few guys had camera's mounted on their boats for qualifying, including Farthing.
Which camera system was this one?? I used to have a V.I.O. POV that I used to make a bunch of video for fun while riding my Seadoo RXT-X.

It worked great, but I just got all the videos I ever needed, and sold it. Sony has a new one that is HD, and I want to talk to some of the powers to be, to put those on 3 or 4 boats, per race, then go back and edit them into the final product when it's shown on TV. Just like with the race cars, I think it would give people a unique perspective. Especially if you never ridden an open class boat or ski.

Re: Amatuer Open Videos Heat 1, and Moto 1

We just use one of those little "GO Pro" cameras. They are like 180$ for the complete kit including mounting attachments for hood, helmet, etc..., and the water proof convex lens case to use it in!!!

It takes a 2gb sd card, and 2 AAA batteries. Down side is, it only takes a 2gb card, so you can only get about 40 minutes of video, which is fine for PWC racing, and other problem is the batteries. If you use the lithium E2 batteries you can fill about 3 cards with a set of batteries, if you use standard batteries, put in a fresh set every moto!! But the quality is incredible for a camera that is like an 1.5 inch tall, 2 inch long, and an inch thick !!!

Sound is great too if you use it outside the waterproof case, but for PWC, you must keep it in the case at all times..

Here's a few I did with the VIO;

http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...nt=havasu3.flv

Not bad for a 46 ish year old guy driving an RXT-X around some buoys. And no, it's not stock.

The quality from the VIO is incredible, but I had to make the file size much smaller to upload it, so it actually looks worse than yours.

I saw maybe 4 or 5 guys with those GO Pro camera's mounted to their boats, and I must say, the quality is incredible, and the sound is better than what I had. Mine was $700!!!
And the Sony HD ones are something like $2500.

I think it shows a very unique perspective, and really gives people an idea of how wild and wet it is out there.

Thanks for doing that, they are really enjoyable to watch.
