| Re: Aero's Flying!!!! R/A rider from Indonesia seems to me like winning a race on a couch is as simple as spending enough $ on a couch to make it the fastest couch. No? I mean really.... how hard can it be? Build a really fast boat... then race it. If you built the fastest boat then you should win the race. Its not like a couch is really difficult to ride. I know you have to pick a decent line and all, but its not like you are riding a stand-up or anything.

Being a former stand up rider, and now a recreational couch rider, the skill set involved is completely different, and in a lot of ways, much easier on the R/A.
However, there is still some skill and stamina required to race on of these big boats. If you haven't ridden one around a buoy course, it might surprise you.
But, I kinda see where you coming from, but this isn't the place for that argument, and really, has already been beat to death in other places.
This is just about a young Indonesian kid that has a lot of talent. I think if/when he gets an open class boat, he will be a force to reckon with. He rode Rius open class boat yesterday, and was just incredible. Now an open/GP class boat is an entirely different animal. It's akin to riding a very pissed off Bull, that wants to throw you off at every turn, and at speeds, can have some very strange handling characteristics.
So, let's let the stand up Vs. runabout argument end here, please.

Yes you need to build a fast ski but you have got to be able to hang on to it also. Its not as easy as it looks. |

| Re: Aero's Flying!!!! R/A rider from Indonesia Let's not start this again!! As a semi-retired ski racer I have nothing but respect for the R/A racers. It takes ballz to go into that first turn on those monsters!! |

Offroadie I think you would be real suprised at what it takes to hang on to one, looks easy in the pics. Put your butt on the line & see how long you last. |

I'm sure this two boys will become BIG stars in the very near future. | I think his Fathers name is Felipe. I met all of them out at Body Beach. I think both of the kids will be future stars. They have a natural talent.
Momar: not sure why some of them stretch the browser. I hate it when it does that. I'm not sure what to change so they don't stretch....any suggestions? I'm going to keep hosting them in my Photobucket account, so tell me what I need to do so the browser doesn't get all weird. |
