IJSBA Pre World Finals Update (3/5)
September 30, 2009
Greetings to the Personal Watercraft Community. This is your third update as we head into the 2009 quakysense World Finals. This will be a short update as our publicist, Dominic Clark, released a very informative bulletin just two days ago. Therefore, here is a very brief rundown of the latest developments for the greatest sporting event on the planet:
Blake Corning on site
The most indispensable person at the IJSBA, Blake Corning, is on site at Crazy Horse Campgrounds. He has been unloading the IJSBA trailer and is currently in the first stages of building the race site. Tents and grandstands are on their way, and the shoreline will soon transform into the venue we are familiar with. Blake has been working in more than 100 degree weather getting everything set for the event. We are all very grateful to have such a hard working person in our corner. Thanks, Blake.
Hotel Information reposted
We have received a few requests for our host hotel information so we posted it again. Please support the hotels that take an interest in saving competitors money. The Island Inn, 1-(928)-680-0606, is our convenience hotel and is right across the street from the event site and is offering rooms to competitors for as low as $68.00 per night. Our economy hotel is The Travel Lodge, (928)-680-9202, and offers rooms for only $53.95 per night. Luxury accommodations are offered by The London Bridge Resort (866)-331-9231.
Restaurant and Beverage Specials
The IJSBA is securing arrangements with a few of the restaurants in town in order to provide discounted meals for competitors and spectators. Mudshark’s Brewery, Barley Brothers, and Shugrues are just some of the participating eateries. A complete list will be able in the rider registration packets.
Online Media Credentials are now available
Pre Registration for media credentials was available through Dominic Clark. He is now preparing briefings for major media. Anyone who still needs to register for media credentials must do so by visiting the link from our home page.
Additional day of live audio and video feed
Voice America has stepped up again to support the event. They have agreed to arrive a day early so that the Friday races can also be heard and seen online. Thank you very much Voice America for helping to bring the World Finals to those who were unable to make it this year.
Welcome new vendors
McGraw Insurance, Lenziparts.com, Ridin’ Dirty, Parts Unlimited, Slippery When Wet, and Fresh Peaches are just a few of the vendors that will joining us at World Finals. We are constantly shifting around the vendor layout to accommodate more requests. There may still be vendor opportunities for those persons interested.
One week left to avoid onsite registration fees
This is just a reminder that October 7th is the last day that competitors can pre register for the World Finals. After October 7th, only on-site entries will be accepted and this registration carries higher costs. Save money by registering today.
That’s it for this update. Tomorrow is October, 1 and we officially enter the World Finals Month. Please check back this Sunday for the fourth pre World Finals Update. If you have any immediate questions, please do not hesitate to email
info@ijsba.com or call +1-(714)-751-8695.
