Any good Ohio River ramps for pwcs?

Any ramps around Louisville? Cox's Park is OK but looking for a ramp that I can unload by myself. Somewhere to tie off or to beach it w/o the current and rocks?

Re: Any good Ohio River ramps for pwcs?

cox park isnt too bad. they have a dock, but i have my own method.
i made a beach stand out of pvc. I just unload the ski, pull it up onto the stand over to the side, then park the truck. While im riding i throw it over in the bushes by those rocks on the upstream side of the ramp

the zip ties were just temporary while the glue dried. total cost was about $26.

Pretty clever! D*mn, I must be blind, I did not see a dock at Cox's. Is there more than one ramp?

Talking Re: Any good Ohio River ramps for pwcs?

You could go on the Indiana side down by the old Jimmy's on the River. There are a lot of cruiser boats for sale there and it's not too bad. Or go up to Duffy's Landing on the oppisite side of Cox's park. Or on the Kentucky side there is Andy's at Junniper Beach he'll ask for $100 for the season or Captain's Quarters or down by Hethers on the river....
Hope it helps you out....... Steve

Re: Any good Ohio River ramps for pwcs?

You might try taking 45 minutes and going upstreem to Madison IN. The ramp there is plenty roomy. Local beaches are sandy and the city is very clean and accomidations are excellent. No rush. No police hassels. Little boat traffic. The barges are wound out and making rolers. And the landscapes are out of a Mark Twain novel.

Oh, if you happen to make it to Madison, go upstream 7 miles then take a left up the creek. Always a good bunch here. Plus some mighty fun riders!
