Thumbs up 3rd Annual Operation Helping Hero's Freedom Ride

The Eastern Pa River Runners, a local charter club of The American Watercraft Association, along with Perry Performance Group based in Dania Beach, Florida is proud to team with The Family and Friends for Freedom Fund, to raise money for this wonderful organization that aids in the recovery of our combat wounded Marines, and servicemen and women from other branches of the armed forces recovering at both Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Medical Center. The 3rd Annual Operation Helping Hero’s Freedom Ride will commence with the hopes and dreams of America’s hero’s riding with us. We will set out on a journey approximately 275 miles round trip on a personal watercraft. The journey will take the following route:
  • First Day at Sunrise-Friday, July 17: Depart from Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, MD and down the Chesapeake Bay turning up the Potomac River to Quantico Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA.
  • Morning of the Second Day-Saturday, July 18: Continue up the Potomac River towards Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge, VA where they will meet up with 100 or so watercraft riders from around the area. The group will travel to Washington DC in the hopes of raising awareness within the community and the government the need to help America’s wounded soldiers and the need to protect the personal watercraft enthusiast’s freedom to enjoy recreational boating. The group will then go to Tim’s River Shore Restaurant & Crabhouse before returning to the Marine Corps Base for the evening.
  • Morning of Last Day-Sunday, July 19: The River Runners will depart and begin their trip back to Sandy Point State Park along the same path that they arrived.
What we are in search of on this ride is the support by presence of every personal watercraft club, rider and enthusiast in and around the surrounding area as well as those who wish to travel to ride for this great cause, to join us on Saturday July 18th at Leesylvania State Park at 10:00 am for a ride to Washington D.C. to raise "Awareness by Presence" and then head back to Tim's River Shore Restaurant for a great time.

If you and your family believe and are thankful for the freedom we have, then help those who have fought and suffered to bring us that freedom, as well as dedicating their lives to trying to free other countries. Do your part in whatever way you can to help The Family and Friends for Freedom Fund. Assist the fine servicemen and women who have fought so bravely for your right to live in the home of the FREE and the BRAVE.

We would like to thank Perry Performance Group; Dania Beach, FL and all our other sponsors for their contributions to the support of this event.

For more information on the ride or how you can help, please contact the Eastern PA River Runners at info@easternpariverrunners.org or The Family and Friends for Freedom Fund at http://www.injuredmarinesfund.org/

Contact us if you plan on attending, so that we may have a head count. Thank you.

If you cannot attend but would like to help this worthy cause, please go to www.easternpariverrunners.org and click on the First Giving widget to donate directly to the charity.

With 4th of July approaching let's show our service men and women how much we appreciate all that they do.
