| New to Blasters, how'd I do? Well I have had a 650sx standup for about four years now, really love it. Picked up a rough X-2 a few years ago but haven't had much time on it (couldn't keep it running). I decided I wanted something I could sit on and figured a Blaster suited me best, although I have never ridden one. I just bought this one off of ebay. Haven't looked at it yet, figure I will pick it up in a few days. What do you guys think? Am I going to have a good ski or a nightmare? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks!

| Re: New to Blasters, how'd I do? If it was built correctly by someone who values having a reliable ski, then you are going to have an awesome ride and a ton of fun. If it was built by somebody who cut corners and just wanted to get it running, you might have a headache. But from the description it sounds like you got a great ski, congrats!

| Re: New to Blasters, how'd I do? I won the auction at $1500. I was the only person who bid on the ski, which concerned me a bit. The guy sounds like he built it to ride it so I am hoping it was done right. I thought it was a good price for the parts. The only blaster I could find close by was $2k stock, with no trailer. I am ready to get it on the water and see what I got. |

| Re: New to Blasters, how'd I do? I second the comment about it being set up right; it will be a blast-er for sure !
If it was just a bunch of stuff bolted on and not dialed in, it will run, but not be optimum performance and mayy need tinkering with jetting or carb adjustments for the pipe. Chances are you are going to hop on it and it will just scream awesomness.

Tuning a ski correctly can be a real biotch, once someone gets it right they will usually have recorded the jetting and high/low screw settings, unless of course they bought it that way, already all dialed in.
When I bought my highly modified Blaster, it was encouraging to find an immaculately clean motor compartment and the tuning settings written in Sharpie on the underside of the hood.

| Re: New to Blasters, how'd I do? Well I picked up the ski and got it on the lake. It runs like a scalded dog. There is a little bit of a flat spot in the tune right before it comes on to the pipe. Other than that it seems good. Only ran 50mph on the gps, but that seemed plenty fast to me. The acceleration is ungodly, and I still can't believe how well these things turn. It seems to need a higher pitch prop, but I don't want to give up too much of the acceleration. |
