Thumbs up Love my new B1, but....too far forward?

Just got it yesterday, and holy crap is it a blast to ride!!!

My only complaint is it sits nose heavy and so flat on the water that it is hard to catch air on because you can't pull the nose up. It has an Riva ride plate on it which might be a little longer maybe? I'm sure this thing would be awesome to race the way it is, but I just freeride, and would like to be able to catch air a little easier. Do they make sponsons for these?

Can't wait to get back out on it!!!

I'm just talking about being able to say rhythm section a bunch of waves....I'm so far forward on the machine and it wants to keep the nose down so hard that you can't really pull back and get it to launch off a wave....wants to cut through it not launch.

Does that make any sense?

You must be riding it incorrectly. The only time you should sit on it is taking a breather.

Re: Love my new B1, but....too far forward?

If you really want to "jump",

1) run it with a half a tank of gas and stand up onit (dont sit)
2) time the waves and hole-shot the throttle in the trough of the wave.
3) at the same time as you are riding forward on the nose, "hop" your weight back to the rear deck.
4) Pull up on handle bars, shove the stern down and at the top of the wave, your body should be back up over the handlebars.
5) push down on the bars and lift your back feet, the ski will pop up fast and be airborne.
6) with practice and timing, you should be able to rip with atleast 2 feet of air under it.

If you are out and about and see a wakeboarding boat, the shape of the hull and waves thy put out are superb for geting massive air of they are pulling a good boarder, but just be sure to stay atleast 100 yards back from them if they are towing a rider*. Better yet, ask them if they can set the trim super high and just let you cross their wakes 100 feet back when the crest forms, you will never want another jetski again !

* check local lake laws first about such, and do it safely.

you dont sit on a blaster, your but should be just off the seat. knees bent and shift your weight around depending on conditions.
