Does this Blaster look right?

Hi guys. I'm looking to possibly purchase this 94 Blaster. Guy says it has good compression, but I will do a test myself as well. Everything looks pretty good, but I'm wondering about the spot in this photo where the protec pipe attaches to the top of the motor? I've looked at other similar Blasters and there always seems to be bolts or something there. This one almost looks like it was grinded down or something in that area. I don't know much about these......does this look correct to you guys? Thanks!!!!

Re: Does this Blaster look right?

protec pipe are poop, they are heavy and tend to crack on the mounting bracket, what i did to mine was, cut the top and side brackets of flush with chamber add a piece of rubber between the pipe and exhaust manifold so they don't rub. Has worked no with no problems.

Re: Does this Blaster look right?

Thanks. Where does the temp sensor usually sit? How important is it?

Re: Does this Blaster look right?

temp sensor goes in/on the head. its dead center in your pic. the bracket that supports the front plug wire also secures the temp sensor (2 x 10mm hex bolts).

not very important IMO, if you pay attention to the pisser flow.

Re: Does this Blaster look right?

So those two empty bolt holes to each side of where the pipe attaches is where the 10 mm's would go to hold the temp sensor? If that's the case, then at least that explains why it looks like it's missing bolts there. Thanks!

no, the empty bolt holes are for the stock pipe bracket. the temp sensor bolts are there (5mm bolts 10mm heads). if you look at the bracket thats supporting the front plug wire and follow it down, you will see the 2 small bolts holding it in place. the empty hole between them is where the sensor goes.

Re: Does this Blaster look right?

Got it, thanks. Is that a relatively inexpensive and easy part to add back on if I wanted to? And do you have any input on the protec pipes? I know nothing about any of them, but is it at least better than stock?

Re: Does this Blaster look right?

i dont particularly care for the protec pipes. theyre very bulky, heavy and lead to cylinder cracking. the ones i had definitely made more power than stock, but the reliability factory sucks. how much is the seller asking for it?
