Bring back the blaster!

Is there any way I can start an online petition for Yamaha to start making new Waveblasters?

You probably can, but they never will.

Re: Bring back the blaster!

I think a new waveblaster with a 800 four stroke non turbo with the nano cell hull would be amazing. However unlikely, I purchased a used blaster on ebay last year and spent the winter building a very inexpensive spec ski compared to the sxr or hydrospace. I only raced it a few times and not only was it challenging it was alot of fun. I managed to finish 9th overall in highpoints and 4th in my region. The beauty of the blaster is that you can turn and carve very aggresive lines on the course and it really does help you become a better racer. I think every one who races PWC's either standup or runabout, should also race sport to help the class grow. We can all dream!

Re: Bring back the blaster!

Just get a used one and restore it. Lord knows if they made a new one it would be huge like everything else.

Heck, they call the FZR "lightweight and nimble," and it weighs over 800lbs dry.

Re: Bring back the blaster!

If they could make it the same size as it is now, with the nano cell hull, and drop in a 800cc 2cyl version of the GP1300 engine (Fuel injected say 130hp), and the Yamaha twist trim. I bet it would RULE!

Re: Bring back the blaster!

Poor sales of the Blaster 2 w/760 motor and the Blaster 3 w/800 motor will assure that that will never happen . . . . . . too much of a niche market. Buy an old one for a spare while you can still find them and do an engine conversion.

If you want something a little different, look around for an old race hull, there's some carbon fiber stuff floating around out there with some pretty crazy bottom half configurations

Re: Bring back the blaster!

The problem was they made the blaster 2 way to big it would be awesome if they brought it back and introduced it to the racing and surf riding community. Where would I go to start an online petition? Also where can I race in Tampa?
