Blaster should I do it

Ok well this is it I’ve seen and watched allot about blasters and am really keen on getting one but I’ve heard things about them which put me off. Some people here in NZ say they are unreliable and they crack also the drive system gives out.

I have also read a lot on here from all you guys with them and you all seem to love these blasters. So what’s the truth behind them I have a waveraider 1100 which is fun but I want something more challenging and nimble to ride also want to get into some surf riding. My raider will be kept for my lady to ride.

My other issue is to get one of these blasters I need to sell all my DJ gear but don’t want to do that and then get a blaster which is going to give me issues.

Ok so what have you guys got to say

A B1 is gonna be about as nimble a PWC that you can buy that has a seat. They are light and fun. If you have to reinforce for big surf...so what, you'd have to do that for anything that you would truly beat on. So dump all those old Barry Manilow 8-tracks and buy a Blaster.

Re: Blaster should I do it

I love my Blaster. Unfortunately, it's in pieces right now and waiting for my tax refund to get it back together...

It's my second Blaster I've owned, but I couldn't see and imagine myself on anything else. My friends have stand ups, which I've ridden, but don't care for them all that much, and my other friend has an X2 but it is still in the shop so I haven't ridden one.

Have you ridden a Blaster before?

Ditch the Dj equipment and buy the blaster. if you maintain your equipment it will give you countless hrs of enjoyment.

Re: Blaster should I do it

Ok yeah I have never ridden a blaster before but have ridden a stand up once which was fun and a big 3 seater which is poos plus I have my raider whitch is more fun than a big three seater. Even though I've never ridden one im sure I'll like it.

But what about there pumps and motors are they good or do the give out like I have heard some people say. There are not very many here in NZ so I to be very carefull and find the best I can if I do it.

Re: Blaster should I do it

In stock form , very reliable , in modded form - if you have it tuned in correctly its very reliable. Pumps are not a week point , motors are almost bulletproof. Dont hessitate.

Re: Blaster should I do it

LOL yeah I've heard of this mod bug.

Ok so when looking at the skis what should I look out for whats good and whats not good and what should be checked. I know or have read that PSI in both holes should be 150 if ski is stock but what if there is a after market head on it.

Re: Blaster should I do it

B1's rock--my son has 95 --engine is all original 701, single carb--NEVER been apart or rebuilt and has about half a billion hours on it of HARD riding. Pump all stock so are motor internals--Pro-Tec pipe and F/A.

Get it, ride it hard and enjoy it.....reliable as a rock..

I ride a 96 Blaster 2--but I am 41 (my son is 16) and love the heck out of it-- My buddy rode my B2 onw time and went and bought one the next weekend--he is also 40 yrs old--my son and I trade out all the time--D
