| 701 raider waterbox mod. I was bored this week and decided to put a 701 Raider waterbox in the B1 and it was worth it! It is a definite improvement over the stock box. I have to admit that I was impressed with the results. There was a good added low end punch that continued through the mid range. I did not notice much with the top end, but who cares anyway. The pipe seems alot happier with this set up. Can't explain why, but I'm happy!!

| Re: 701 raider waterbox mod. Yea, there is a throatier sound. The big change is I was so used to listening to the sound of the motor and pipe in front of me, now it is behind me! Takes a bit of getting used to!! Make sure you get the small Raider waterbox there is a bigger one and good luck with the styrofoam it is a biotch to remove. I used a small torch and a old bread knife (thin and long). Then I had to use a a reamer bit on a drill where the knife would not reach. Makes a hell of a mess, so make sure you have a shop vac handy!!! Good luck!

| Re: 701 raider waterbox mod. Hey, just noticed this post, I've been doing the same mod, but with a limited factory pipe. I'll post up some pics when I'm done. My only problem now is I plan to switch to a mod pipe, so I'm gonna have to figure a new hose combo.

| Re: 701 raider waterbox mod. So I got excited about this when I saw this post today and decided to bust out most of it tonight. Here is what I have, its about 95% done, just need to figure out where I want to put the hooks for the strap and what I want to stick underneath it for padding.
I had the U pipe cut straight and flared so it would point straight back. Thats the stock blaster long hose, just cut it. Coming out the waterbox is the other stock waterbox hose. I bought the elbow piece at Pep boys for 4 bucks or something. They have a plethora of different exhaust tubing pieces to chose from.
And the finishing touch is the rear exhaust. No more soot pump

Well, now I'm gonna redo the motor and do the waterbox also. I'll post up some pics when I get to it. Hopefully, be finished by the 1st or 2nd week of January. |
