1994 WB1 Top Speed at 47.6???

Hey guys,

Just looked at group k and they stated that a single carb wb1 top speed is 43.8 mph.

701 WAVE BLSTR 43.8 mph

I have never radar'd or gps'd my WB1 but i have been clocked at 47.6 on my sx-r.

Keep in mind both of these skis are BONE STOCK. nothing done to them.

The other day a buddy and me were out on the WB and SXR. We were messing around and racing and at top speed the WB would hang right next to the SXR. They were identical at top speed. Couldn't pull it. I am 250lbs and my buddy was 180lbs. I am positive the SXR was running at its potential.

Anyone else have a stock WB1 radar'd or gps'd. Any thoughts what would cause this?

It is a unopened motor at 150psi per hole.

EDIT: im not complaining....just curious!

Re: 1994 WB1 Top Speed at 47.6???

weight can play a factor---------- should have switch up skis to see if there was a difference------stcok for stock---------sxr800 vs wb701-------should be alittle difference i would think but that is just me

Re: 1994 WB1 Top Speed at 47.6???

I understand weight can make a difference (and it did a little, not 4mph). My question is why when a 180lb guy (average?) on a stock wb1 will go 47.6 mph when stock is only stated at 43.8???

sorry for the unclear question on the previous post.

EDIT: would a am impeller add 4mph? It still has good holeshot so it couldn't be to different from stock pitch.

Re: 1994 WB1 Top Speed at 47.6???

every ski is going to vary in top speed 2 WB1 are not going to be running nose to nose one might out perform due to engine specs and build from the factory, water conditions, impeller condition, sea level, lots of variables to look at.

good point.....

so did group k just test a lemon....i thought 4mph is a big difference.

If it was just 1 or 2 i wouldn't have started the thread.

Re: 1994 WB1 Top Speed at 47.6???

Yes,

If mine would have been 44.8 or 45.8 mph (one or two) i wouldn't have been as curious. But 4 mph faster than what group k stated seemed odd to me, and too far off to just be difference between skis.
