umi steering question

i have a 1989 x2 that i bought today that has a umi steering setup on it. but its a direct steer. i want to put it on my 1990 x2 that has squirl cage steering. can i switch the steering setups? umi on 1990. 1990's steering on the 1989?

Just make sure you keep the steering arms on the ski they are from.

You should just junk the UMI, or trade it to me for the plate! lol!

hell no. lol. i need the umi. i keep breaking handle bars trying to backflip my x2. almost got it yesterday till i hurt my ankle real bad.

the umi steering on the 1989 is very stiff. is extremly hard to turn. do i have to rebuild it or something? i havent even looked at it yet.

Two bearings in it , pop them out , I think they are 6004RS bearings , you can get them for cheap on ebay.

pulled it apart, but cant seem to figure out how the bearing come out. they are really rusted
