New to x-2!!!!

Hello, I got an X2 the end of last riding season... It had been sitting in a garage for like 10 years... I took it apart and everything was ok, put it back together, and got it running fine... The hull is ok, and the seat was torn... Got a new seat... Everything works great... I rode it a few times last season... Now the new season is coming up, and I would like input from other riders as to what I should do with it...

WHAT ARE SOME DO IT YOURSELF THINGS THAT ARE PRETTY MUCH A MUST FOR X-2 RIDERS?????

PLEASE LET ME KNOW... THANK YOU...

ROB HARLEY

Re: New to x-2!!!!

If it has a black motor, dump that dinky 28mm carb they stink. I have a NEW 38 Keihin CDK2 Race edition for sale along with the throttle cable adapter.

Also for any motor.
Pipe
Compression raise
prop
ride plate
intake plate

Re: New to x-2!!!!

Must do is drill and bolt the stem so it doesn't have slop. Chop 1.5 inch off the back of the ski. Get a 15.5 prop. Get a 38 or 44 carb.
I have a 44 carb setup for $250.

Re: New to x-2!!!!

when you say drill and bolt the stem... you mean so it does not move from diff. positions any longer correct.... It would always be locked in one positon....

yes. it will be straight....

those pins are weak, they break, and when the steering falls it knocks you off the ski and the stress on the throttle cable holds the throttle open and your ski goes flying across the lake with no rider and you get to learn how strong your hull is when it turns swimming babies into dead babies. and whatcha ganna do with dead babies?

lanyard! the faceplate swaps with skis like a 750SS to give you a lanyard on your ski

if that ski still has the stock aluminum prop... GARBAGE! its an 18 pitch prop that kills your bottom end!

hmmmm +1 on the 1.5" chop, its easy and it gets good results they turn MUCH better without your nozzel blasting the side of your hull.

Use the search tool, this question has been asked quite a few times and there is a ton of information "on what to do"

Re: New to x-2!!!!

Ok, anyone have a Prop that they want to sell???? How about a faceplate, so I can have a lanyard???? And for cutting the 1.5 inch off... Resealing it... Where should I go to get the epoxy... Someplace that would have it, and how much???? Was not looking at dumping a bunch of money in this thing...

Re: New to x-2!!!!

Sorry, last one before someone else... not meaning to be a post *****... It already has a prop on it... I called the original owner... Said that he does not remember what pitch, but it was more agressive than stock, but now over the top.... any way to tell???
