My new and first X2!!!

Well i got one its a 86 with a clear title. There is no motor tho!!lol. I dont know a lot about them but have had a few skis in the past. I have a few questions...What can i expect to pay for a motor and how much for a carb? I would be willing to rebuild. It would give me anf my dad something to do the rest of the winter. Here is a pic.... Also is there any thing i need to fix or change on it?

Re: My new and first X2!!!

be prepared to pay at least $400 for a running motor if its hard to find one . parts to rebuild can be expensive to . i have a core i will sell you for like $40 and you can ship it to SBT for a rebuild . (cost like $475) . but ive always been told if you want something done right then do it yourself so IDK

Re: My new and first X2!!!

Unless you are on a super tight budget, skip the 650 and go straight for a 750. Look for a small pin 750 as the porting on those motors yields better bottom end.

Re: My new and first X2!!!

Swap the hood to the 87-up style. 86 likes to take on water that's why they changed that. Also the water box and fuel door are both 86 only.
Chop 1.5 inch off the back of the ski and ride plate.
Find yourself a 750 dual carb motor!
