how much piston/bore clearance is needed?

I pulled the head off an engine that I was told had a fairly new top end, I found that the bore was at 77.3mm. the pistons say 1.50mm on them.

compression was at around 180... I think the head is milled, honestly I can't tell. hone marks looked very professional and were a very good X

Re: how much piston/bore clearance is needed?

Just run it, without a professional bore guage and caliper you cannot accuratly tell what the clearance is set at. Wiseco pistons require more clearance than oem type pistons or they will sieze, and need to be warmed up before hammering on it. Your at 3 sizes above stock at 1.5 over or
