drill bit for drilling waterbox

what kind of drill bit did you guys use and where to get one, i cant find a 12 inch cobalt drill bit the only ones i found at home depot is the black rigid ones the one that is coated will that work?

i bought mine( 3/16 x 14") from a small specialty type hardware store. kind of like a local ace hardware. then proceeded to perforate the plates like a fine swiss cheese

1/2 inch wide X 12inch long black drill bit , from home depot .

cost $14.99

its so easy even a caveman can do it haha

thanks you x2 geeks i bought the one from home depot, and thanks twin turbo for your detail pics, i was using a drill that was to fast , i am using a bit of threading oil and slower speeds working better

I burned through two bits and got like 3 holes. What am I doing wrong? I was using gear oil to lubricate too...
