Black sludge coming out exhaust

Just put the 650 back together after all the mods with new 44sbn and westcoast manifold all new gaskets and bored exhaust manifold. The motor was loose in the engine compartment for several months on it's side but not sure why this would matter. After I fired it up yesterday LOTS of black sludge came from the exhaust, I means lots. It started to clear up but with the hose running it just kept coming out. Has anyone seen this before?

Re: Black sludge coming out exhaust

The motor was flooded with fuel & it washes out the exhaust & it comes out the exhaust as black sludge.

Super flooded. Make sure you don't have a needle and seat sticking causing your carb to dump too much fuel into the cylinder.

Re: Black sludge coming out exhaust

OK so this all happened yesterday and now I went out to look at it again and the entire carburetor is full of fuel to the top. Do I have the popoff pressure to low?

Yes or you need to replace the needle/seat.

I see your running a BN carb,do yourself a favor & throw that carb in the trash & get a SBN.

The entire carb was rebuilt yesterday as well 2.0 needle and seat, 120 pilot, 150 main, and silver spring.
